This guide covers manually connecting OX App Suite email to both Apple Mail and Outlook for Mac.
Apple Mail setup
- Open Mail (press ⌘+Space, type "Mail", press Enter).
- Go to Mail > Add Account, choose Other Mail Account, and click Continue.
- Enter your name, email address, and mailbox password, then click Sign In.
- Mail will show a verification error and ask for more details. Fill in:
- Email Address / User Name: your email address
- Password: your mailbox password
- Account Type: IMAP
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.us.appsuite.cloud
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.us.appsuite.cloud
- Click Sign In and keep the default sync options.
Folder mapping (prevents duplicate folders)
- Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts, select your account, then the Mailbox Behaviors tab.
- Set Sent, Junk, and Trash mailboxes to the folders listed under your email address (not the ones under "On My Mac").
Confirm SMTP settings (Apple Mail can change these automatically)
- On the Server Settings tab, uncheck Automatically manage connection settings under Outgoing Mail Account (make sure it's the SMTP section, not IMAP).
- Set the port to 587 and click Save.
Outlook for Mac setup
- Open Outlook and go to Outlook > Preferences > Accounts > Add Email Account.
- Enter your email address. If Outlook selects Exchange, click Not Exchange to change the account type, then choose IMAP/POP.
- Enter:
- Email/Username: your email address
- Password: your mailbox password
- Incoming Server: imap.us.appsuite.cloud, port 993, SSL checked
- Outgoing Server: smtp.us.appsuite.cloud, port 587, SSL checked
- Click Sign In, then Done.
In both cases, allow about 15 minutes for mail to finish downloading before troubleshooting.
